A ride up the Thames to Richmond, while Cathy caught the bus. She couldn't resist lunch at the Slug and Lettuce pub.
This is after the first restorative pint, and before the food.
Second pint is waiting.
We didn't go to this pub - weren't sure if we could get out when the tide came in.
A pretty house (temple?) in Kew.
A small part of Kew Gardens. The people at the pub assured Cathy that it was a 20 minute walk to Kew. An hour later, and footsore, we finally arrived.
Cathy leaning on the bridge at Kew, taking an exhausted photo.
Of course, the universal English solution - a nice cup of tea.
Back on the bike, and off to Putney
Nice bit of protein at the Slug?
ReplyDeleteWhen are youse having that day off?
The ride looked hot!
Day off scheduled for August 8th.
DeleteIs that the day you come home?
DeleteI'm sorry there aren't any new photos. I must say it all looks very English!
The Slug doesn't have any legs so you don't get a cricket score but it looks nice all the same. Great photos Sidebottoms. Very jealous.
ReplyDeleteMore excellent travelogue.
ReplyDeleteSwans up by 35 in the second.
I spy sunshine in the background! Very jealous! Sounds like you are both having a lovely time. Most deserved particularly those pints to drown your sorrows at only being top of the ladder for two minutes. P.S. The mighty Dees were magnificent today! Lots of love from Ruth
ReplyDeleteWe've only slipped to 2nd, Ruth! Good to see the Demons win though.
