Kakadu Part 4

There are hundreds of square kilometres of lush, green wetlands.
When we got home (to Cooinda), a cane toad and about 1000 of his brothers and sisters was waiting for us.
 A python crossing the road.
A river crossing the road. The wet season has just finished, and we were one of the first lots to get along this road.

Just to add flavour, the river has plenty of crocodiles in it!

Ruth hired Victor to take the five of us around the park on Tuesday. We went to several sites of rock art.

This is a drawing of a Tasmanian tiger - the one that is extinct. Apparently there are many such drawings, and the animal obviously roamed all over the top end.
There are also drawing of men, and the white man is depicted with his hands in his pockets, and a pipe in his mouth.

  1. Great photos. Except for the crocs. If I had to chose between fording that stream or tunnelling across, . . . . I would opt for the tunnel.
