Venice II

Further down the Grand Canal.
At 80 Euro per person, we decided to regret not having a gondola ride for the rest of our lives

Piazza San Marco was horrifying. Literally thousands of tourists, cheek by jowl, mostly off the three huge cruise ships in the harbour. Coffee at Euro 8.50 a cup (abhout AUD15.00), 8 Euro to get into the bell tower at the cathedral, and sellers of trinkets everywhere.
We headed inland as fast as possible, and discovered the other Venice of quiet canals, beautiful houses and shops and coffee you don't have to bottle and worship.
