National Day in Vinsobres.

Bastile Day is 14th July, but the village celebrates on the 13th. These two gnarly dudes greeted us.

The dinner is set in the Salle de Fetes in the middle of the village

One of the local sports is to make  the highest tower out of the used ice cream cups. Here is John competing.

Claire with Francine. I met Francine 3 years ago, and she has less English than I have French!!! Claire is our interpreter, as both of them speak fluent German.

John and Peirre in discussion.

After the food, and the free wine, the dancing!

There's Val at the end of the chorus line.

By this time, Pierre was quite tired and a little emotional.

On the way home, we stumbled across - no, not an elephant, but a DIGGER.
Anne immediately attacked, and before anyone could say "Road up" she had mounted the device and had to be stopped digging up the street.

Like the King's guard in Authyia, Pierre could only stand and watch.

There was no stopping her.

We finally got her home about 1 a.m..
tomorrow, the Tour comes to Mirabel (nearby)

  1. Was Val actually engaged in line dancing? Was Emmylou Harris playing?

Anne obviously saved the last dance for Pierre.

Pierre could "...only stand and wait." But he was also serving.

Anne of course has driving large vehicles in the blood.

That was produced by Siri who seems to have picked up my voice.
