With the 10 km run finished, the No 29 bus actually got us to the Opera Garnier.
Two 2CV's. Sounds like a ballet dancer's resume.
To cut the rent, I've agreed to do guard duty outside the apartment.
Off to this museum which we all agreed is one of the best in Paris. Wonderful art works, architecture and history.
The driveway to the museum.
Anne in the jardin.
I think this madonna was a Boticelli.
After several hours at Jacquemart Andre, it was on to a No 22 bus and up to the Arc de Triomphe.
This is what the Tour riders see going
up the Champs Elysees.
... and this is what they see going
down.
A familiar landmark that Anne, Peter and Cathy will go up soon. (I have to do the blog)
This is a one-person Smart car.
Lunch in the Tuilleries garden.
After a morning of culture, Peter and I were dragged to Blvd Haussman, and shown the beautiful ceiling in Lafayette Galleries. We were then given 2 euros each, and told to go and drink beer until the girls were finished shopping. Apparently they had saved us hundreds of euros by the time they returned.
The (difficult to see) curved series of dots at the bottom of this photo, curving to the left and then back again, are in fact chairs. Cathy called the a Chairway to Heaven.
Dad, that photo of you with the baguette is exceptional. Also the 'two 2CVs' gag was very strong. And everyone looks very happy in the photos.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, a very strong blog post. 8/10, would read again.
