Versailles Part 1 - The Gardens

Up early, coffee and pastries then off to gare d'Austerlitz for the train to Versailles.
This photo is an early example of a concept that John has introduced. POWER CLASHING.
Tony, you would do well to note any following examples if you wish to keep up with the cognoscenti of Melbourne.

To Versail. Chat, actually

About 10,000 people got up earlier!

In the forecourt of the Palace.

Cathy and I did the gardens, and as a first move, I established who was boss (of the vegetables)

Cathy overlooking the gardens

Cathy emulating the Earth goddess, Ceres.

Leaning Paul

The Palace from the gardens

We decided early on that the gardens were way too big, and so hired a cart.
THEY FORGOT TO PUT THE GOLF CLUBS IN!!!

This smart car is actually a 1-seater, but two Frenchmen seemed to have fitted into it. The hand just happened to be passing.

The fountain of Apollo (like all the other fountains, it was turned off)

The Palace again

Manicured trees

and again

A bucolic Cathy

A gilt-edged Paul

We weren't the only Aussies in Versailles today.

  1. Thank goodness your are reblogging, I was beresque.

I am concerned at your continuing sanity. All I see apart from French topiary is members of your group impersonating art!

Glad you got a buggy, I wonder if we can get them in Germany?

  2. More excellence.

Dad, I have submitted your leaning photo to this website: http://theawkwardlean.tumblr.com/ which is devoted to people leaning awkwardly in photos. Peter, you will enjoy that one.

Where are the photos of the war reparations, or have I misunderstood what happened here?
